Trace and Transfer deals with the concept of objective form and transference. Objective, meaning a selection of pre-existing forms and or structures to trace, transfer and expand upon them. Transference, meaning the act of translating or transferring the form into another medium.
30 sculptures will be placed along the Seaview Promenade between Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay. The wide Seaview Promenade is 1.2km long and is easily accessible from either side. Rothermel is one of eleven overseas artists with Capta Lux being exhibited.
The catalogue is produced for 'Mirage Oasis: Hong Kong International Sculpture Symposium 2009', a project included series of talks, workshops, symposiums and exhibitions.

The Roswell Arts Fund announced the donation of four sculptures to the city’s permanent outdoor art collection from the 2018-19 edition of the ArtAround Roswell Sculpture Tour now ending.
“Granite Ring” by Chris Rothermel, on the City Hall campus by the bridge to the Cultural Arts Center, was purchased by the Roswell Arts Fund and The Hagan Family Foundation as a tribute to Robert Farley “and his immeasurable contributions to the arts in our city,” the Arts Fund said.
The public art installation entitled, “Concurrent Metamorphosis #1” created for the LINC by Sculptor Chris Rothermel is now installed on the LINC. The sculpture and its associated parts were delivered to the site and installed over a four-day period. Even rainfall during assembly did not hold the team back.
We had an extremely successful dedication plaque ceremony for the beautiful sculpture project Concurrent Metamorphosis II, which was made possible with sculptor Chris Rothermel as well as donor Scott Chahalis.
